Hot Artists Touring Week of Sept 24th and Top Ten in Music

The cougar is going on the road once again, and we’re not talking about a lonely but hot forty-something divorcee. John Mellencamp is embarking on a 14-date tour that will begin Oct. 26 in Terre Haute, Indiana. In other concert news, MySpace is launching its first music tour on October 16 with headliners Say Anything and Hellogoodbye.

If you're looking for hot artists touring around the country the week of September 24th is Maroon 5, a newly reunited Van Halen, Squirrel Nut Zippers, Martina McBride, Kenny Rogers, former American Idol contestant Kellie Pickler, Nas, and Redman.

Top10 CDs this week:

10 – Still dancing all over our top ten, it’s Disney’s follow-up to the insanely popular “High School Musical.” “High School Musical 2,” is the soundtrack to the hit sequel and features the single "What Time Is It."

9– “It’s Not Big, It’s Large,” is the latest album from the big-haired Lyle Lovett. Our ninth choice delivers a mix of country, blues, jazz, folk, and gospel.

8 – A British singer-songwriter best known as the lead guitarist and vocalist for the band Dire Straits takes the eighth spot. It’s Mark Knopfler’s “Kill to Get Crimson,” featuring the singles “True Love Will Never Fade,” and “Punish the Monkey.”

7 – Number seven on the countdown goes to “Curtis,” by 50 Cent. It’s one part brutal honesty and another part entertainment. And if it doesn’t outsell Kanye West, Fifty might quit the music business. The single is "Straight to the Bank."

6 – Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals drop to sixth with “Lifeline.” The band completed the album in just seven days, directly after a nine month European tour.

5 – “One Chance,” by Paul Potts gets a chance at number five. The album from the winner of the first season of the show “Britain’s Got Talent,” features his rendition of Puccini’s “Nessun Dorma.”

4 – Falling to fourth this week is rapper Kanye West with his latest: “Graduation.” It features the singles "Stronger" and "Good Life.”

3– The man who brought us “You’re Beautiful,” is back with his second album in our three spot. James Blunt’s “All the Lost Souls,” includes the single “1973.”

2 – Country superstar Reba McEntire debuts in second with: “Reba Duets.” It features duets with some of music’s biggest stars, including Justin Timberlake, Faith Hill, and Kelly Clarkson.

1 – And climbing all the way to the top is “Drastic Fantastic,” by Scottish Alternative singer KT Turnstall. The first single is “Hold On.”

Those are the tops in albums this week. Other releases this week, include: “90 Millas,” by Gloria Estefan; “The Greatest Songs of the Seventies,” from Barry Manilow; and Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder with “Music for the Motion Picture Into the Wild.”
