around the country the week of September 24th is Maroon 5, a newly reunited Van
Halen, Squirrel Nut Zippers, Martina McBride, Kenny Rogers, former American
Idol contestant Kellie Pickler, Nas, and Redman.
Top10 CDs this week:
10 – Still dancing all over our top ten,
it’s Disney’s follow-up to the insanely popular “High School Musical.” “High
School Musical 2,” is the soundtrack to the hit sequel and features the single
"What Time Is It."
9– “It’s Not Big, It’s Large,” is the
latest album from the big-haired Lyle Lovett. Our ninth choice delivers a mix
of country, blues, jazz, folk, and gospel.
8 – A British singer-songwriter best
known as the lead guitarist and vocalist for the band Dire Straits takes the
eighth spot. It’s Mark Knopfler’s “Kill to Get Crimson,” featuring the singles
“True Love Will Never Fade,” and “Punish the Monkey.”
7 – Number seven on the countdown goes to
“Curtis,” by 50 Cent. It’s one part brutal honesty and another part
entertainment. And if it doesn’t outsell Kanye West, Fifty might quit the music
business. The single is "Straight to the Bank."
6 – Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals
drop to sixth with “Lifeline.” The band completed the album in just seven days,
directly after a nine month European tour.
5 – “One Chance,” by Paul Potts gets a
chance at number five. The album from the winner of the first season of the
show “
4 – Falling to fourth this week is rapper
Kanye West with his latest: “Graduation.” It features the singles
"Stronger" and "Good Life.”
3– The man who brought us “You’re
Beautiful,” is back with his second album in our three spot. James Blunt’s “All
the Lost Souls,” includes the single “1973.”
2 – Country superstar Reba McEntire
debuts in second with: “Reba Duets.” It features duets with some of music’s
biggest stars, including Justin Timberlake, Faith Hill, and Kelly Clarkson.
1 – And climbing all the way to the top
is “Drastic Fantastic,” by Scottish Alternative singer KT Turnstall. The first
single is “Hold On.”
Those are the tops in albums this week.

Greatest Songs of the Seventies,” from Barry Manilow; and Pearl Jam’s Eddie
